Bikeball, as it is played in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St.
Paul, Minnesota, is a variant of mountain bike polo that is a little closer
to hockey than it is to horse polo. The game is fast-paced, with lots of action
on the field and in the air, as the ball is frequently lofted and hit out
of the air. There has been a group playing in the twin cities since the mid
1980s and the present games are played in the lakes area of Minneapolis on
Thursday evenings when daylight saving time is in effect. Weekend games are
also often scheduled, but the time and day varies. New players are welcome
and will be able to join a game if there are not too many players. Weekend
games are generally the best in which to try out the sport. Sign up for the
mailing list (in the forum section of this site) to find out when the next
weekend game is.
